Answers to common questions about Track Wiser.

Getting Started

How do I create an account?
Tap 'Get started' on the home page and enter your name, email, and a password. You'll receive a verification email — confirm it within 7 days to keep full access.
How do I create my first wallet?
After signing up, go to the Home page and tap 'See all wallets', then tap the + button. Choose a name, currency, and starting balance for your new wallet.
How do I add a transaction?
Tap the green + button at the bottom of the screen. Choose a wallet, category, amount, and date. The transaction is saved instantly and your wallet balance updates automatically.
What are categories?
Categories organise your transactions (e.g. Food & Groceries, Transport, Entertainment). Each category is either an expense or income type. Track Wiser creates default categories for you when you sign up.

Wallets & Currency

Can I have wallets in different currencies?
Yes! Each wallet has its own currency. Track Wiser automatically converts between currencies when showing your total balance using live exchange rates from the European Central Bank.
How do I change my default currency?
Go to Profile & Settings and tap the Default currency row. Your default currency is used for aggregated totals like combined wallet balance on the Home page.
Which currencies are supported?
Track Wiser currently supports CZK, EUR, USD, GBP, JPY, THB, and MMK. Exchange rates are updated daily from the European Central Bank via the Frankfurter API.

Budgets

How do budgets work?
Create a budget from the Budget page with a name, start date, and end date. Then add spending limits per category. Track Wiser tracks your spending against those limits and shows your pace — whether you're on track, ahead, or overspending.
What's the 'safe weekly' amount?
It's how much you can spend each remaining week and still stay within your budget. It recalculates daily based on what you've already spent and how much time is left.
Can I have multiple budgets?
You can create multiple budgets, but only one can be active at a time. Free users can create one budget; Pro+ users get unlimited budgets.

Groups & Splitting

How do I split expenses with friends?
Create a group from the Groups page and add members. Then log a group expense — Track Wiser automatically calculates who owes whom based on the split. Members can settle up directly from the group page.
How does settling work?
When you settle a claim, Track Wiser creates a personal transaction in your wallet recording the payment. The claim is marked as settled and the group balances update automatically.
Do all group members need an account?
Yes. Each group member must have a Track Wiser account so they can see shared expenses and settle their claims.

Billing & Pro+

What's the difference between Free and Pro+?
Free gives you one wallet, one group, and up to 5 budget category limits — everything you need to get started. Pro+ unlocks unlimited wallets, groups, and budget categories, plus AI features like receipt scanning, budget health scores, weekly insights, and smart alerts.
How much does Pro+ cost?
Pro+ is €2.99/month or €19.99/year (save 44%). We also offer a limited Lifetime plan at €49 for the first 100 founding members.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Go to Profile & Settings, then tap 'Manage subscription'. You can cancel anytime — your Pro+ access continues until the end of your current billing period.
What's the refund policy?
Monthly subscriptions: no refunds — cancel anytime and access continues until the period ends. Annual plans: full refund within 7 days of purchase. Lifetime plans: full refund within 14 days, no questions asked.
What happens to my data if I downgrade?
Your data is never deleted. Extra wallets, budgets, and groups are locked but preserved. Resubscribe anytime and everything unlocks instantly.

Privacy & Security

Is my data safe?
Your password is securely hashed with bcrypt and your data is stored in an encrypted PostgreSQL database. We never store plaintext passwords and we don't sell or share your data with third parties.
Can I export my data?
Yes — go to Profile & Settings and tap 'Export my data' to download all your transactions as a CSV file.
Can I delete my account?
Yes. Go to Profile & Settings, scroll to the bottom, and tap 'Delete account'. This permanently erases all your data — wallets, transactions, budgets, and categories. You must leave or settle all groups first.
